Did You Know....
About Mercury Amalgam Fillings?
If you need to have a filling put in your mouth, you will probably receive
what is known as a silver filling. More accurately, it should be called
a mercury amalgam filling. It contains anywhere from 48-55 percent mercury,
33-35 percent silver and various amounts of nickel, tin, copper and zinc.
The problem is that mercury is a highly toxic metal. Mercury may contribute
to birth defects, alzheimer’s disease, Lou Gehrig’s disease,
cancer and multiple sclerosis. The metal is so toxic that the Environmental
Protection Agency has ruled that scrap amalgam from dental offices must
be treated as hazardous waste if it exhibits toxicity. Yet mercury is routinely
put in people’s mouth in restorative dentistry. Some dentists use
composite fillings made of round quartz-filled resins that can be tinted
the color of natural teeth. The wrong combination of metals placed in the
mouth can create “Mouth Battery” that generates electric currents.
The solution is to locate a dentist who can test all metals to be placed
in your mouth for currents as well as compatibility with your body.

A few passages from “A
Simpler Way” by
Margaret J. Wheatly and Myron Kellner-Rogers.
“
We want life to be less arduous and more delightful.
We want to be able to think differently about how
to organize human activities.”
“
We encourage you to question
yourself at the level of your beliefs. Such personal
questioning requires us to go very deeply into
our ideas about the world. It often causes us to
challenge more than we want to have challenged.
But we have found that the belief is the place
from which true change originates.”
“
There is a simpler way to organize human endeavor....It
requires being in the world without fear. Being
in the world with play and creativity. Seeking
after what’s possible. Being willing to learn
and to be surprised.” |
