C ERTIFICATION P ROGRAMS

All of our Massage and Dual Certification Programs fulfill the requirements for the National Certification Exam, New Mexico Licensure, AMTA and ABMP membership. All Polarity and Dual Programs fulfill the requirements for APTA membership.

Massage Therapy Programs
700 Hour Massage Foundation: This program offers the same first semester courses as the 1000 hour Massage Program. Second semester is a six week, part-time evening semester which offers new techniques, time to integrate the material and a focus on professional goals. Offered twice a year.

hands_cover: 700 Hour Evening Massage: Designed to support students who work or who prefer to learn over an extended period of time, allowing students to maintain their current lifestyle and time to integrate the material. Students attend school 4 evenings a week for one year. In addition to the core classes this program offers Medical Massage and Shiatsu.

Dual Certification
1000 Hour Massage & Polarity Certification: Become certified in both Massage and Polarity Therapy in this comprehensive and diversified program. Students are offered the core courses in both the Massage and Polarity Programs. Offered twice a year.

Somatic Polarity Therapy Programs
700 Hour Somatic Polarity Certification: Registered Polarity Practitioner (RPP). Polarity Therapy is a comprehensive health care system based on an understanding of energy that underlies human structure and physiology. It draws upon Western, Eastern, Ayurvedic and Chinese traditions and the emerging theories of modern physics. Polarity works with bodywork, diet, yoga and awareness. This program is for the mature student who is ready for transformation and a new approach to life. Offered twice a year.

studentsinclass: 700 Hour Evening Somatic Polarity Certification: Registered Polarity Practitioner (RPP) This evening program is designed for students who choose to fulfill their RPP requirements over a one year period, allowing time to work with and integrate the material presented. Students attend school four evenings a week for one year.

200 Hour Somatic Polarity Certification Associate Polarity Practitioner (APP). This five week course offers students a foundation in the core principles and techniques of Polarity Therapy. Offered twice a year.

200 Hour Evening Somatic Polarity Certification Associate Polarity Practitioner (APP). This two month course offers students a foundation training in Polarity Therapy in a part-time format.

Cranial-Sacral Certification TBA 2007
150 Hour Certification
This program is taught with a Polarity reference, which integrates the practices of somatic experience with the energetic/technical aspects of cranial sacral therapy. Polarity background not necessary. Five courses can be taken for 100 hour certification or on an individual course basis. Courses offered monthly.

Ortho-Bionomy Certification
500 Hour Ortho-Bionomy Practitioner Training: This unique and innovative Program is based in a 100 year old health care system, rooted in Osteopathy using non-force corrective techniques, incorporating positional release and energetic methods. Ortho-Bionomy enables clients to consciously experience and participate in their body's ability to self-correct. This healing modality is for everyone; health care practitioners, bodyworkers who desire a gentler approach on their own bodies, and for the lay person. Offered in seven, one week modules over 18 months.

ORTHO-BIONOMY®: Senior Practitioner Training Program & Continuing Education Courses
The Academy is pleased to offer our Ortho-Bionomy Senior Practitioner Diploma Program. This new program interweaves three advanced modules with the following Basic Practitioner Program modules: Engaging: Muscles, Fluids & Organ Function; Relationships: Exploring the Somatic Experience; Conversation: Advanced Energy & Pelvis Techniques; and the Residential. All of these modules & courses can be taken for Continuing Education credits.

Advanced Module Schedule
Sensing: Visceral Approaches & Emotional Resourcing
March 4-10, 2007
This module includes Phase 5 & 6 visceral work, advanced emotional approaches and the dance between the sympathetic & parasympathetic nervous systems. Also included are Practitioner Training Seminar and Study Group.


Conversation: Advanced Energy & Pelvis Techniques
July 22-28, 2007
Practitioner Training, Phas 4 Advance Pelvis, Demo Skills, Study Group, Advance Phases 5 & 6.


Synergy: Universal Heartbeat, Breath & the Spiral
August 26-September 1 2007
This module includes Cranial techniques, Physical and Energetic Approaches, and working with the energies of heartbeat and breath. Also included are Phase 7, The Living Philosophy of Ortho-Bionomy and Study Group.


Prerequisite
Must have completed 2⁄3 of the Basic Practitioner Training Program.

Continuing Education
All students who have completed an equivalent of 2⁄3 of the Basic Practitioner Training may take any of the advanced modules for Continuing Education credit. The National Certification Board certifies the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a Continuing Education Provider under Category A.
