Professional Development and Ethics: Massage

This course, which combines ethical issues and business skills, is designed to give students necessary information for starting a massage practice. Included are record-keeping for tax and insurance purposes, marketing, time management, professionalism, ethics, career options, setting fees and policies, start up costs, laws that apply to bodyworkers, resumes, business cards and public presentation. Massage students are encouraged to join the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), the Associated Bodyworkers and Massage Professionals (ABMP), and/or the International Massage Association (IMA).

This course is offered in the Massage, Dual and Continuing Education programs.
