Our continuing education classes are attended by students who live locally, nationally and internationally. The continuing education department offers courses in a variety of modalities ranging from foundational to cutting-edge techniques not found anywhere else in the country. Whether you are looking to fulfill accreditation credits or are pursuing study in an area new to you as a bodyworker, you’ll find an offering that fits your interests at the Academy.

We offer continuing education courses year-round in several formats: part-time, full-time and weekend study. Every course listed on this site can be taken for credit and as continuing education. Our courses are open to beginner, intermediate and advanced students. Distance Learning Courses are now available for CE credit. Please contact the Academy for more information.

CE hours can be used by Massage Therapists to meet re-licensing requirements and, in many cases, by other professionals. One innovation in our offerings is that PDA points are now offered for most CE classes and are approved by the National Certification Commission on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Chakras, chi energy, meridians, and different forms of reflexology, such as Vertical, and facial reflexology, are also considered. In treatment, students will also demonstrate the “style” they have developed, and the use of intuition. You will learn how to create still-points, direct energy, and open the “avenue of expression” in order to connect with your clients using your “original voice.” You will give and receive a practice session each day.

PRQ – Craniosacral Follow Up Training

When a child is born there are pressures on the skull, and these pressures fixate the base of the skull and bones of the head into a certain position. The normal hardening of these bones locks the skull into this ‘baby’ position. Without intervention, this position stays with us for the rest of our lives. In this class I will share with you techniques to increase the flexibility of the cranial base, allowing the brain to function in the maximum space available. You will see how to release the trigeminal nerve and open up new possibilities of intelligence for yourself and your clients. Cranio = intelligence. Finally, you will explore the structures that keep the dura in place, such as the ethmoid and coccyx complex.

Craniosacral: Talking to The Heart

PRQ – Craniosacral Sphenoid Training

In this Somato Emotional Trauma Release class I will show you how to speak with your clients using your ‘original voice.’ You will learn to recognize and use the intelligence of cells and organs. You will feel how to speak directly to the structures inside the body without the interference of the chattering mind. You will also learn techniques for exploring and releasing constrictions in your own heart and your clients’ hearts. Since the effectiveness of Cranio therapy is directly dependent on the amount of love that the therapist can allow, everyone who wants to claim this ability has to make sure his/her heart is as free as possible.

This training gives you the possibility to function more smoothly and express more fully, as a Craniosacral therapist and in your own life. If joy needs to express itself, this is the doorway, and it will change your life forever.

In this class you will learn how to become silent enough to listen and feel the inner movements of a person’s body. You will understand how to approach and interact with the central nervous system and the Craniosacral system, and will learn to feel the specific cranial rhythm with which you are most comfortable. You will explore ‘synchronicity’ between you and the client in all its aspects. You will feel and practice how the CS system relates to the whole body, learn about fascial intelligence, and experience the diaphragm-by-diaphragm release. I will teach you the anatomy of the brain, nervous system, and CS-system, and show you how to do the basic cranial lifts and neck (atlas-occiput) releasing techniques. By the end of this Basic class you will be able to give a full basic cranial session.

This Somato Emotional Release 2 class will explore the reticular alarm system and the total stress cascade response in the body. Typically when we experience stress, it is the result of the reactions in the systems which function out of the awareness of our conscious mind. In this class students learn how these responses occur, and how to take them off “automatic” and interrupt the stress cascade.
