Classes and Prices

EPR I and II can be taken without any prerequisites. Together, the four classes provide a strong education focused on a holistic approach to horse care using Equine Positional Release™ and Ortho-Bionomy®  principles and form the foundation material for the Equine Positional Release Certificate.

EPR I and EPR II may be taken in either order. Together, they form the foundation for the Equine Positional Release basic program.

EPR I: Exploring Assessment, Technique, and Response
16 CE hours for Massage Therapists; Equine Professionals and EPR Certificate Program
16 hours Equine Ortho-Bionomy elective credit
$270 full tuition

Audience: Equine Therapists, horse industry professionals, veterinarians, chiropractors, hoof trimmers/farriers, trainers, horseback riders, Ortho-Bionomy Practitioners, members of the general public.

EPR I covers the front leg and shoulder, the hind leg and pelvis, and an introduction to the neck and hooves. The class focuses on movement patterns and gait, along with study of the structure, physiology, and nature of the horse.

EPR II: Movement, Suspension and Reflexive Response
16 CE hours for Massage Therapists; Equine Professionals, and EPR Certificate Program
16 hours Equine Ortho-Bionomy elective credit
$270 full tuition

Audience: Equine Therapists, horse industry professionals, veterinarians, chiropractors, hoof trimmers/farriers, trainers, horseback riders, Ortho-Bionomy Practitioners, members of the general public.

EPR II focuses on movement patterns and gait, along with study of the structure, physiology, and nature of the horse, and explores the thoracic spine, ribcage, sternum, cervical spine, and hooves.

EPR III: Suspension and Fluidity in Movement
(Prerequisite: Equine Positional Release, EPR I or II)
16 CE hours for Massage Therapists; Equine Professionals, and EPR Certificate Program

Explore in greater detail how to work with specific areas of the equine body, investigating the variations in positioning and responses when working with structure and tissue (muscles, connective tissue, bones, as well as circulatory and lymphatic systems).

EPR III offers an intermediate-level focus on assessing injury and compensation patterns and working with joint structures, including tendons and ligaments.

EPR IV: Strong Structures and Motion
(Prerequisite: EPR I or II and EPR III)

Explore in greater detail how to work with specific areas of the equine body, investigating the variations in positioning and responses when working with structure and tissue (muscle, connective tissue, bone, circulatory and lymphatic systems).

EPR IV is an intermediate level class and includes working with the horse under saddle, covers whole-horse assessment, and explores the roles of the suspensory system and the hoof mechanism as regards free movement in the horse.

Application of Equine Anatomy and Physiology

Exploring Equine Anatomy and Physiology explores hoof mechanism, the nervous system, center of gravity, and propulsion and how EPR can work with these systems.

EPR and Ortho-Bionomy Class Information

The Foundation Ortho-Bionomy component teaches a therapeutic and functional understanding of the body with a view to improving the health and well-being of people. Phase Four classes have no prerequisites.

This class combines Equine Ortho-Bionomy with Ortho-Bionomy Basics, Phase 4 principles, contact, positioning, and foundation techniques and is tailored for riders and those working with riders.
