Equine Positional Release™ Certificate Program
A holistic approach to horse care, Equine Positional Release trains students in observation, assessment, and self-corrective Positional Release techniques to aid the structural and postural alignment of the horse. Incorporating the nature of the horse as well as the horse-rider relationship, EPR’s aim is to help the horse gain a state of health, balance, and structural soundness, while maintaining performance, all using non-force and pain-free techniques. The skills learned enhance communication, and safety, and build sustainable partnerships with horses.
“One of our horses, Gunsmoke, was quickly running out of options; his behaviour was so erratic that keeping him was becoming unsafe. As a result of EPR he is a fully functioning member of our herd. The hands-on approach has started me on the road toward enough proficiency in Ortho-Bionomy to treat my own horses with a sense of confidence.”
- Karen Hardy, Santa Fe Riding Company, Española, NM

Since the Equine Positional Release Program has been developed from Ortho-Bionomy®, students who enroll in EPR should be interested in gaining a working understanding of the principles of Ortho-Bionomy in relationship to horse care. Graduates of this program will learn about Positional Release, Equine Ortho-Bionomy, and the exaggeration of preferred posture to effectively work with the horse. Additionally, students will gain an understanding of movement, posture, and the therapeutic abilities of Equine Positional Release. On the whole, the program ultimately leads to safer, more harmonious relationships between people and horses.
“Zarna Carter has taught classes and worked on quite a number of our horses at Rancho Mariposa. She has done an incredible job with my mare, Honey, a very difficult horse, which had the reputation for being dangerous. People are amazed at how Honey has changed with the work Zarna and I have done with her. I now have an amazingly lovely mare. I feel blessed to have Zarna become part of our barn.”
